A paint tube that once lived in a classroom loved painting. She used to spend countless hours in front of the canvas, using all sorts of brushes and mixing the colors with such attention to detail that she turned everything she painted to masterpiece, using themes that she had either thought of all by herself, or that others had suggested to her.
One rainy day, however, and as is frequently the case with all big painters, our good tube ran out of ideas on what to paint next. “I have no inspiration…”, she said, giving a big sigh, then went to her room to check her old creations and see whether there was some theme she had not picked yet. And it was a matter of act that she had painted everything one could possibly think of: from castles and beaches, to dragons, knights and ships in the ocean.
“Could you suggest something new?”, she asked the other school supplies, yet all they could think of is all the trivial things she had already painted, like the sun, the moon, the clouds or the sea. As it turned out, she had painted everything. “Here, see!”, she told them, flipping through the pages of a sketchbook.
“Seems like you’ve exhausted all possible themes. Have you exhausted all possible colors though?”, a red tomato that frequented posed as a model asked her. So much did she love painting, that she had even visited many of the finest galleries in the world.
“What do you mean?”, the tube asked her.
“From what I see, your paintings are mainly combinations of yellow, blue and red. I’m sure the other colors were left unhappy”, the tomato told her and our good tube got very disappointed with what she heard.
She then took the sketchbook and sat next to the window and enjoy the sounds of the rain. As soon as she finished flipping through the various paintings she had drawn all this time, she turned her attention to the majestic scenery right outside the window, where she observed the rainbow in it’s brightest colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet, all mixing perfectly with the light blue sky and the gray clouds covering the sun that had just come out.
“What a masterpiece!”, she exclaimed, then picked up the brush again and started painting, this time making a commitment not to leave any color dissatisfied. After finishing with the rainbow, she drew the raindrops with every detail, then added deep blue and black for the night in the upper corner as well as yellow for the bright stars.
“We’ve seen you paint rain before, yet this is the most beautiful thing you’ve painted until now!”, the school supplies told her as soon as they saw the finished masterpiece, and from that day on she made sure that whenever she painted something, she would exclude no color from her palette, and mix them in as a creative manner as possible.
