A TOY TRAIN that lived in a household never left its tracks or moved backwards, no matter the circumstance.
One cold winter day, however, the boy took his toy collection out in the garden and put the tracks on the snow. He, then, placed the toy train on them and enjoyed his play. The train was very happy, because for the first time in its life it was taking a tour outside in nature. A few minutes later, however, dark clouds gathered in the sky, and the boy went back home to find shelter, forgetting the train outside. The train kept circling around, letting out the characteristic sound "choo, choo!", without noticing the bad weather. A few moments later snow started falling on its tracks. Yet the train stubbornly remained on its course and circled around. The tracks froze at some point and the train could no longer move. "It would maybe help if you moved backwards for once", a sparrow that was sitting nearby advised it. The train, however, that had only been going forward for years, barely even listened. Not only did it not reverse gear, but it also tried to push through the snow that had gathered on its tracks. It closed its eyes, took a deep breath and plunged forward. After opening them a moment later, the train realized it was completely derailed and rushing down a slippery slope filled with snow. "It's like... skaaaaating...!", exclaimed the train and tried to keep its balance, yet, its speed was so high that it went faster and faster. "Try to move backwards!", the sparrow told it once more. The train would again not listen and only stepped on the brakes. A few moments later, it found itself with half its wagons hanging from the edge of a deep puddle. "Maybe if I go to reverse, I will save myself", the train thought, but no sooner had it finished the phrase than the soil above it collapsed, tossing it in a small pond that had formed inside the puddle. As it was very cold that day, the water of the pond had turned to ice, even, and the train found itself… ice-skating. As soon as the sparrow saw what had happened, it flew over to see if it had been hurt. "It's wonderful to move outside your tracks!", the train exclaimed happily. Not only did it learn how to skate on ice that day, but from that day on it decided it no longer needed tracks to dictate the direction of its movement and only went where it felt better....
