"I cannot possibly rehearse without my teddy bear!", the tambourine said, then locked himself in his room and cried non-stop. As a music show was scheduled for the end of the week and the tambourine would definitely not be able to make it without rehearsals, the other musical instruments started to worry. So, they thought of buying a new teddy bear and lying to him about having found the old one.

So, it happened. They went to the nearest toy store and bought a teddy bear that was identical to the one the tambourine had. As soon as they got back to the music school, they told him: "we found your teddy bear, you forgot it behind the couch!".

The tambourine was very happy to see it. After swiping the last tears, he gave the teddy bear a big hug, only to turn again to the other musical instruments and say: "This is not my teddy bear, you're making a fool of me!". He then angrily threw it on the floor and went straight back to his room. The other musical instruments wondered how he figured out.

A few days later came the day for the music show, and so great was the tambourine’s sorrow that he had not attended a single rehearsal. The musical instruments knocked on his door and politely asked him to come out even for just one final attempt to catch up with them. "The teddy bear is gone. Just get over it...", they persuaded him.

"I guess you're right", the tambourine replied as he swept his last tears with a white towel. Then they all went to the stage room nearby so as to rehearse. The tambourine played music as he felt better, not really paying attention to the notes, as the only thing he could think about was his lost teddy bear. Much to everybody's amazement then, the teddy bear which they kept searching for all this time stood up from its hiding place behind the piano and danced to the tune of the tambourine.

"So here you are!", the tambourine exclaimed and ran to hug it.

"If you had left it in your room instead of always bringing it along, you wouldn't have lost it", the clarinet told him in a strict manner, and the rest of the musical instruments agreed.

The tambourine, on the other hand, was so happy to have finally found his lost friend that he gave his best self on stage, despite not having rehearsed. Since that time, he keeps his teddy bear in his room while he is away instead of dragging it along, so that he doesn't ever lose it again....
